1150 FD leak ?

. It's booked into Platinum bikes in the morning for diagnosis of problem. Damn. There's only 38,000 Kms on the bike. But I assume its better to get it sorted before travelling.
Looks like FD input bearing leak. They (almost) all do that sir! Especially if the bike's ticked over or has seen agressive nose-down angle, i.e. on a ramp, then the collected teaspoon full of oil pours out.
They call it a "self lubricating" bearing for a reason LOL, not much to concern about really - unlike the FD main bearing (when oil pisses from below) the input shaft bearing rarely fails. So carry on riding mate

Certainly not seen any "nose downwards" action at all. 
Fancy looking cover on the strut Luke! Any more photos?

It was on the bike when I got it. Truthfully I don't think it does anything worthwhile. It's meant to stop stones hitting the strut. Make me an offer
I offer to take it and put it on my bike?!
Could be leaking from the rear seal on the gearbox and running down too. That's quite a simple fix too though. Good luck

Mine has done that a couple of times in 68,000 miles. It's only ever been a teaspoon or two, I've never done anything to fix it.

This appears to be the correct diagnosis. I'm now on a train back to my house after leaving the bike in Platinum.
no courtesy bike? the taxi's etc add up when getting work done there...sorry Mark but...

The dart is only €5 door to door. A courtesy bike would involve a €20 fee to my insurer to add it on for the few days. And as I have another 1150 in the garage here at home its not an issue. Hardly a reason to pay for the big labour charges in Duffy's etc etc.
Door to door? I've been up there and will go back I might add but the taxi costs €10-15 and then the €5 for the Dart. Not a big inconvenience in the scheme of things. I agree about the labour charges etc. and am sure he'll sort it. anyway, hope it's ok today.
