Thanks for the comments. More wiring up tonight. Starter motor in, loom all zip tied. But I seem to have a spare connector. Any ideas? Front ABS sensor maybe? If it is then I have another spare in the binnacle ...

Right after solving that mystery - it's the front ABS sensor, I'm left with another spare:
And after another productive evening I'm beginning to find that I'm running out of parts to fit.
Gear change, lh fastway, passenger pegs, TB, starter motor and cover all go on.

And after all the chat about how to install an oil sight glass I thought I'd show how I did it.
Start with the new parts
And a hole
Throw this bit away
Clean up the inside of the hole with brake cleaner and smear a light coat of silicone, fairy liquid, monkey jism, whatever you prefer. I used this:
Find a socket of a slightly smaller diameter than the inside of the hole. This Halfords Pro 30mm is my weapon of choice:
Apply special service tool no 2
Then if you're really fancy, open one of uncle Verns secret boxes:

It's maybe not a good idea to have an exposed live positive terminal. Particularly as there is no protection other than a melted wire and possible fire if the terminal shorts out.
You may find you have the cover floating around in one of your boxes, if not they are available.

When the threaded bottom part of the funnel detached itself and remained firmly embedded in the servo unit. Feckin brake fluid everywhere, and an hour of carefully tapping the threaded portion out of the filler hole. Grumpy as feck now.
