Hi there,

Who knows exactly when was the exhaust changed from non clamped, just slipped on, to clamped on the CAT?

My 2000 model came as a clamped-on version when I bought it (bog standard) in 2001, with the clamp being behind the chrome cover.

Well, this is the very first time I can learn something to somebody here :) Looks like this Swiss model from April 2000, 25000 miles, is not clamped as in the first photo. And it's also fixed by three bolts on the rear passenger foot peg, and not only one just like on the clamped one.

I mentioned the clamp being in the chrome cover, earlier, because I remember seeing secondhand covers that bolted onto the exit pipe from the collector box. It would indicate that these possibly didn’t use a clamp.

The rear three bolt silencer fixing was on all the early 1150 models before it went to the single bolt . But they (UK models) still had a clamp under a chrome cover .. had a few chrome covers “ping” off while tightening them :D

All 1999 models had the earlier exhaust which fix to the footrest hangar by 3 bolts but is also clamped onto the cat

To add to the database...Mine is a 2000 model, which was originally registered in Germany and imported to the UK in 2003.
Three bolt fixing to footrest, and slip on to cat. No clamp, or provision for one. (As the "not clamped" photo above.)
