That doesn’t look like an OE grip. What suggestions are you after? Does your bike have the heated grip switch in the left hand cluster? If not that might explain why you have aftermarket heated grips.

Just looked properly at the photo and realised you’ve removed the rubber already. Still not sure what suggestions you’re hoping for though.

The cabling and switch looks OEM. Heated grip switch is throttle side built in .

If there was another set of grips available for these ones . Or is it a case of swopping out the whole unit.

It’s not clear what your issue is… Is the heating element not working, or was the grip just worn and in need of replacement?

As I put in the original post am tidying up the gs and replacing the grips as they were worn. The heating worked fine .

I checked out all the videos and it seemed fairly simple to remove the grip from the element and slide a new grip on but it appears mine is fitted with a different element.

What I am trying to find if there is a way to just replace the grip on these . Or is it a complete unit .

Ok, then my suggestion is to just continue with what you were doing but we don’t know what the grips looked like before removal so any suggestions for sourcing a replacement are going to be limited.

Have you tried fitting a BMW grip?

Clearly your problem is the plastic lip preventing you from sliding on a replacement rubber.

My guess is the original manufacturer must have got the rubber grip on somehow, and I would expect the plastic lip to be a separate part added after the rubber grip was fitted. It could have been glued on or push fitted. Have you tried removing it, if it won’t come off, then as it’s plastic, just file it down to the same diameter as the rest of the grip.

Hi That is what i thought it came away with a lot of force but that also locates the cable and the cable increases the dia so the other grip wont go over . Then there is the raised part throttle side . Will have another look tomorrow night .

Clutch side is similar
