The problem I am having with my bike (2005 1150 GSA) is the idle jumping up and down, between 1050 & 1250rpm, but pulls clean right though the revs. I have checked the stick coils as Steptoe suggests and the left cylinder runs rougher with secondary cap pulled, so swapped with right hand one but no change still rough!. Right cylinder runs fine with secondary plug removed. Also tried spark plug swoop but still no change. Any ideas? could it be the main Plug lead or Hall sensor? :nenau

Coil breaking down?

i have done one, but not the other. Funnily enough it was the right that went, left is still going fine.

There, thats torn it, the thing will go down on me now. I think I'll call it Michelle.

Check the rubber bungs, for vacumm take off, under the throttle bodies.

Just a thought - I lost one of the little throttle stop screws on mine and now the idle is all over the place, but it runs well anywhere above idle. 2 second check just to be sure. Phil

Plug?

If it is doing what you are saying, that surely suggests that cylinder is not working. Now it's simple stuff really, either it aint getting fuel, or it aint getting a spark. I would look at the coil test again. definately WONT be plug leads, hall sensor, my monies on a coil...

Thanks for the help everyone excellent forum:clap I have had a look again at me bike and checked a couple of things as suggested,

Rubber Caps under Throttle Bodies OK no holes, Stop screws still there factory set with locking glue, and I have the chance to swop stick coils with a bike that's running fine, so I will see if that helps and report back:confused:
