1150 probs

Hi folks

Need some help with my 1150 it some how loses power and then come back again only for a moment it usually happends in 3rd gear at 30 mile an hour
its as if the bike has suddenty deployed an anchour . its very strange and hard to explane.

Sounds like it might be a fuel injection problem. try resetting the motronic unit .

Do a search on that and you'll find there's a few threads on how to do this. It's a very simple procedure a bit like rebooting your PC - it clears the system and resets it to factory settings . It may clear the problem . If that's not it I can't imagine what else it might be. Good luck.

Has the in-tank fuel filter been changed according to the service schedule?

Have you filled up with (un) funny fuel at a supermarket, Total or Jet garage?

How old and whats the mileage, mine had similar last year and was cured with a new halls sensor, but also had issues with the injectors as well.
Did it happen after heavy rain?

Its a W reg R1150gs i picked it up from blue bell after changing
my f650gs dakar. apperently it was serviced before i picked it up
so maybe the fuel filter wasnt changed as they probably would have done
the minimal amount. ill try the motrionic reset thing and see what happeneds

Try swapping the HT coil packs (on the end of the HT leads in the cylinder heads) over with someone else's.....sounds like similar symptoms to those breaking down

It's a W reg single spark - they don't have that problem, because they don't have them.
