Morning All,
I brought home my new (to me) 1150RT yesterday. So I set about plumbing in my Starcom and Satnav so I needed to get to the battery.

Off I set removing the 34 bolts that hold the side panels in place. All wedges and grommets popped free. However, I couldn't get them to release from the mirrors. This happened on both sides. Is there a knack to it or have I missed a bolt somewhere? I couldn't see how to get the mirrors off either. I didn't try forcing anything in case I broke a little tab or something off those very large and very expensive looking plastic panels.

Anyway, with the panels hanging loose I managed to get a spanner on the battery terminal so I could hook up my gubbins.

I still need to know how to get the panels off so I can remove the fuel tank - which I'm sure to do someday.

Anyone know how?

Regards

Rob C

Give the mirror/indicator pods a good solid "bash" towards the front with one hand while holding it with the other.

They are held in place with three "pop" fittings.

Cheers Steptoe,
I'll give it a shot next time I get bored.

Just drop it you'll soon find out!

No, Dave, I don't want to do that.

I'll be popping out to the garage soon to look for my hammers though :D
