1150 trade-in against GSA

Thinking of trading in my 18K '53 1150 against the new GSA once it arrives but haven't plucked up the resolve to ask my dealer for the trade-in value. (how I will laugh/cry)

Anybody done it yet? and what were you offered?

idly asked in passing this afternoon - on a 54 1200 with 6k. the answer was about 7500. and delivery of the adv would be about july/sept

Ask your dealer (if he`s not got a shop full of 1150) for a rough price for your std 1150, then price up all your extra`s on this site and combine the price,,now would you be happy??,
I did something simular but sold them my remus kit with the bike..

I'm guessing it's model years '03 and '04 but why the 5?

From the Green CAP trade book (Sep 2005 edition) a R1150GS 2003 53 with 12,000 miles and in CAP clean condition is worth £5900, average condition is £5575. A 2004 53 bike with 6,000 miles is shown at £6125 clean and £5825 in average condition. Probably not the news you were after....

UK registrations now follow the following logic starting in 2006:

March to September "06"

September to March 2007 = "56"

March 2007 to September 2007 = "07"

September 2007 to March 2008 = "57"

Not sure of the exact dates but you get the idea?

Thanks to Flashman for the info - kinda what I expected. That puts the value at less than half the new price.

Looks like the dealer would try and put it out the door for around £7K based on what's in the showroom - and there do seem to be a few around.

Guess I may end up trying private and split the difference.
