My 14Ah battery has finally given up. Because of the immobiliser, I have gone for the larger capacity 20Ah battery that is now available.

The footprint is the same but it is physically taller and my leads won't stretch. Motobins have said that I need to remove the riser plate at the bottom of the battery cradle. It's just 4 bolts apparently......only problems is, how do I get to those 4 bolts?!

Looks like a tank off and airbox out job ..... is it really that difficult?

Hope somebody can help

Getting the tank off is very straightforward if your bike is fitted with the QD fuel connectors. If not, you will need to clamp the fuel lines to prevent spillage.

The tank itself is bolted down by one nut and bolt, which you will find behind the plastic side panel on the right hand side of the bike. You will alos have to disconnect the electrical connector, which is under the same panel. And there are 2 breather pipes, again easily disconnected. Once all these are unbolted/disconnected, the tank will lift off. Make sure the fuel tank is low on fuel when you do this (easier to lift off then).

Not sure about the air box removal as I have never done that.
