Phoned Bahnstormers today to see how much a battery is going to cost. £106

I should have seen this coming, as the Optimate has been showing the red LED recently, but the clock wasn't resetting when starting the bike. I'd read on here so often about this occurring that I thought "they all did that" prior to the battery giving up.

This morning went out ot the bike, just got the noise that I assume to be the soleniod bouncing around. Bummer, battery only a youthful 5 1/2 years old as well.

Mine managed about 6 and an harf or 7... but no I did not go OEM

I've just removed the Exide original.

lol, i also rang them today to replace mine, bit the bullet and got an Odessey battery coming from them tomorrow. that should sort the bike out for a few years given the warranty they come with.

I ordered the battery yesterday from Motorworks, it arrived today

Slight trepidation after putting it in the bike and giving it a charge, I was thinking that perhaps the starter had decided to die. i was thinking along the lines that a dead battery would just make the start go "clonk", but a knackered starter would do the "click, click click" noise.

But, it started ok
