1150gs Cam Chain Replacement

I think my cam chain is on the way out.... My beast has 150,000k's on it, had the new style cam chain tensioners put in 20,000k's ago, and it's rattling it's little barrells off...

Any info would be good info..:blagblah

The camchains rarely seem to wear on these bikes, especially low mileage ones like yours :D it is quite likely to be an issue with the plastic tensioner blades which can be replaced by sneaky people by removing the heads and wangled into place, some people have replaced the front tensioner too.:beerjug:
 
Hopefully not the blades - they're an arse and a half to change. I changed my chains on the GSA about 2 months ago - all OK so far. Made a big difference to the noise for sure. Took the heads off for a de-coke at the same time. It's not a difficult job, you just need the confidence to split and join the chains
