1150GS fork seals--easy to replace?

My latest project bike needs new fork seals. I`ve never done them before and just wondered if it is a big job, easy, hard etc etc.
Also some of the kits mention a tool is included in the kit. Anybody know the tool is for and is it essential when doing the job? £20 with the tool, £8 for seals only.
Any tips appreciated. Ta muchly

Follow this simple guide, a seal puller is useful but not essential.

I done the seals on my r1100gs couple o months ago..piece o cake to do..done both in 10mins..suggest you get a seal puller ..makes it sooo easy..got mine from machine mart £12 I think ..

Useful guides, thanks chaps. Looks easy enough. I imagined having to take the wheel off and remove the full fork leg etc. Parts on order.

Got round to doing these this morning-- as already said 20 mins tops each side.
One seal needed a tap to seat it properly,the other one pushed in by hand with a bit of the grease supplied to help it along.
I bought a seal removal tool off ebay,£4, which made it easy although it did mark the top of the tube where it presses down as it levers the old one out....with hindsight a bit of rubber or something would have prevented this.
The seal kits on ebay, pyramid, are a bit misleading- they claim to have a tool in the kit which I thought reasonable to assume is the tool to remove the old ones....... wrongggg, it is a bit of flexible plastic which is intended to slide down between the tube and seal to remove any dirt etc. Intended for ongoing maintainance presumably.
Anyway, total cost 8 quid for the seals and 4 quid for the tool..piece of cake if any body is thinking of doing it
