Hi gents,

My 1150GSA non-servo has recently started playing up on the ABS. Does the alternate flash which doesn't clear on take off...Just wondering what might be causing it ?

Gets cleared with a reset until the next day's commute. Fluid levels are OK and I've cleaned the sensors

Many thanks :bow

When I had this on my 1100 gs I changed my battery and cleaned up the earth points. That made it go away.

Thanks Nin, I suspected battery also but wondered if there were any other possibilities. Funny thing is my clock has been working like clockwork - sorry about that - normally that's the first thing to go on battery front

Edit: will take voltmeter out for tomorrow.

P.S. enjoying your rebuild thread:thumb2

Battery doesn't need to be much off to stop it kicking in. Mine sometimes doesn't first thing in the morning although it starts without problem. The ride in gives it just enough so that it works fine for the ride home.

Make sure the brake light is not on when it's doing its start up check i e- don't use the brakes to hold the bike.
Check the lever/pedal are not fouling stopping the microswitches from working. (though it looks like you've done this already)

One that caused problems with me was the foot brake.
The microswitch there has a flat metal rubbing blade protecting it from the pedal. This was all mangled up somehow and gave me the alternating lights. I straightened it up and re-aligned it and since then its been fine.

As you know the clock will/should reset it the battery is weak. If it's not doing this then as NIN says check the connections, but its pointing at the battery.

Non SERVO, so the brakes switches etc will not affect this. It's very likely a poor battery as mentioned. Next time stop after a few miles and restart. The boost from the alternator normally does enough to remove the problem.
You can eliminate this forever with this mod:

Interesting link thanks fatnfast, may have to give that a go over the winter.

In the meantime I suppose I'll save a few quid and just live with it - current battery (Exide) is only a couple of years old, thought they lasted a bit longer than that... but hey ho!

Thanks for all your replies gents :beerjug:
