At low ish speed its almost like I have a puncture, low speed 30 and below wobble getting worse at lower speed, I parked up and put it on the centre stand and rocked both wheels with no movement, tyres are pumped up to 36/42,there has been a almost pulsing

It won't be the cause - or at least the sole cause of your wobble - but SOLO tyre pressures should only be 32/36, even 2-up with full luggage I only use 33-34 front and 42 rear
Problem more likely to be tyre related - if all the mechanics look good? But if your mostly running around solo at 36/42 it could wear tyres to a bad profile?

Cheers........................Grizzly:beerjug:

My first thought is bearings, not tyres. Ball joint? Big fd bearing about to go?

Rock the back wheel axially - hands at quarter to three to check the paralever bearing, six o'clock to check the big bearing (or is it the other way round?) Whatever...

The state of the tyres as others have mentioned can make a difference. How old/worn are the boots?

As advised by Steptoe some moons back (many many moons I suspect :-). To check the paralever bearings you'll need to apply the rear brake, then try for play on the rear wheel - 6 o'clock and 90° from there. If there's 's play, then the paralever bearings either need adjustment or replacing.probably the latter.

This is a 5min check. Though have read of people discovering lots of play in these bearings with no handling differences... Not the same for the big bearing.

But there are a number of things to still check for. Yes the tyre profiles might be shot. But it's the lower speed comment that made me think of bearings.

So 2011 R1200GS - mileage? ESA? FSH? Condition sudden or gradual? Alloy wheels or spoked option?

Sounds like the BJ to me, 10 on the parts diagram .............. http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/sho...25-BMW-R_1200_GS_10_0450,0460_&diagId=31_0685
May not show with bike unweighted on stand.

Having said that I don't get what you mean by pulsing TBH. A worn BJ gives a feeling of slight delay with steering inputs, which are greater at low speed, a lack of predictability if you like. Then we could be looking at a worn F.wheel bearing, rim damage, loose spokes or even the top yoke/bridge bearing(tight/sluggish steering). Perhaps you can give us a little more info.

I thought the op was for an 1100?

Exactly - perhaps the OP will enlighten us; there is a time/place for abbreviation & ...........
Well, it's true I agree, presumption is the mother of most F ups. But even if it was an 1150, being posted in this section does suggest something. So not an unfair assumption...

But now you've got me wondering :D

Fair play .......... my bad. I Picked it up from the unread posts & failed to look at the section detail. I'll leave the room quietly!

1100gs as in the title, wheels are r1150rs tyres are pirelli angel new with only about 1k on them, was very stable and good control etc
Problem was in the background for a few days then got much worse, will check the wheel free play

I'm usually using Tapatalk. Depending on how it decides to present the posts it can demand a fair bit of checking to see which section/date/order of posts etc etc. So I know the problem :-)

I'm still with my original thoughts. Ball joint or FD bearing.

Get right up inner the telelever wroth a torch and see if the boot/gaiter is split.
