I make my plans for the future, that being that i will keep my 1150gsa se,take it off the road in the winter of 2010, give it a complete overhaul and return the bike to as near new condition as possible.
I will satisfy my occasional need for change by swapping a smaller and less expensive bike each year, that bike currently being a 94 f650 funduro which i planned to swap next year for a 650 dakar. All is well in the world

Then i stumble upon this resurrected thread and remember that in my heart of hearts i know the 1200gsa is a much better ride than the 1150gsa.
When i bought my 1150, it was after spending many hours testing the 1200 and coming to the conclusion that i could not warrent spending almost twice as much money on the 1200.
I still think the 11gsa is a much nicer looking bike, but do i want to ride it or look at it.
My world is in turmoil again
Maybe when i retire next year i should just buy a 1200gsa an keep my 1150

Well that's that plan out of the window then.
Called in at Rainbow Rotherham to get them to stamp the service book for a service 2yrs ago that was done by them on my 1150, but the book was not stamped.
Had a look around the showroom, then got talking to Shaun.
I was aware that the current model was being phased out,but was surprised to hear just how few 1200gs's were left for sale.
They offered me a great deal on accessories, not just the free panniers ,and a very good P/EX value on my 1150.
Shuan was not at all pushy and printed out the deal we had discussed.
Joanne and i discussed it and decided to go ahead.
I put the 1150 up for sale on here just in case someone was looking for an SE,i would rather the bike go complete to a decerning Tosser than be stripped of all it's extra's and sold on through the dealer network.
Two days later my bottle twitched and i removed my 1150 from the for sale section,we had not ordered a 1200 at this time.
After much soul searching and deliberation,we ordered the 1200 and put the 1150 back up for sale (lots of interest, but no actual cash changing hands so it look's like it will go in P/ex)
Well the bike is due for delivery on 17th October, which is a bit frustrating because, although i am recovering well from my coronary bypass surgery, which i had on the 9th of September,i have been told "no motorcycle riding until the very earliest mid November"we'll see.
Have i made the right decision? only time will tell.Though i do intend to start a thread that will give my own objective opinion, over the coming month's,
on the pro's and con's of both models.
I would have liked the SE version of the 1200,but i am informed the are all sold.
Will let you know my thoughts and how i get on with the new bike .
