I done it today.

Done a deal to trade in the 1100GS in for a new 1200GS Adventurer.

All because I left the 1100 in for a service and rode the 1200 demonstrator for the day. :blast

Will now wait impatiently for delivery. :augie

Now in the process of preparing to swap the zega panniers and top box.

Browsing the Touratech website, not able to wait for Monday to phone them, have found the pannier rails but no mention of mounting plate/bracket for a top box.

Two possibilities:

1. They don't do one :(

2. Have I got a case of web blindness :nenau

Anybody know?

Anybody know if the mounting plate I have on the 1100 can be used on the 1200?

PS is the silver 1200 faster than the red and white one?

'Tis made by TT. The backrest was made up locally.

who sprayed the panniers? looks sooooo much better than silver,
matt finish?

They have been powdercoated in a crinkly black matt finish.
The fella who did it for me volunteered, having done the TT frames which were rusting.
He quickly regretted doing so at they required complete disassembly.
The GSA topbox particularly, as it had so many rivets that needed removing before bolting back after powdercoating.
But I am particularly pleased with the reult. They look great and protect & refreshed the side boxes which were looking pretty battered.

Looks fantastic. :clap

But now have to suffer with a slow silver GS and slow silver panniers. Wish I had asked on here first :blast

The back rest "cushions" on the GSA top box, the "Mrs" is very very very interested.

Any details on your local maker for doing a set for the zega top box?

I had these made in Chiang Mai [Northern Thailand] where the biking is great and very good biking community see ww.gt-rider.com

I will be going back up there next month and could look into getting another set made. Also if you would like a logo embroidered. I cannot give you a cost yet as it was done partly by my powdercoater with a steel shop, partly by a seat upholsterer and then an embroiderer.

PM me with an email if you are interested. The BMW dealer in BKK is, so I may get a number of sets made up.

Can't appear to pm you as yoo are not a site sponsor?

However seem to have found somebody locally who can make up a back rest.

Cheers :thumb
