1200 back lash

could someone tell me how much backlash is acceptable on the back wheel ? if i turn the wheel from one side to the other side when its in first gear how much play should there ?

in gear on center stand bike in first gear putting my hand at twelve oclock i quess about four mins past ,i you know what i mean

Yes, my GS is new and about the same, the play is actually between the sleeves in the gearbox.

Also check the paralever needle bearings. Any slack there will feel like gear backlash.
