Hi
Has anybody fitted a quick shifter, looking for some feed back, looking to fit one on a 2008 R1200 GS
Any feed back appreciated.

First OEM ones were around 2015 on the LC models

For a 2008 bike you’ll be looking at aftermarket, not sure the gearbox will like it much either :nenau
Hi
I’ve fitted a gearbox from @ R9T late model Had to use the casing housing from the original box for the gear selector switch as they are completely different, it’s virtually a brand new gearbox it had only done 600 miles,
Ride’s great, the input shaft recoil housing cracked on the old one (common fault).
I know the R9T had a quick shift, so the box will be good for it, looking to compromise, heal tech seems a alternative.
Cheers thanks for your input no pun intended.

you could probably play - but getting anything done that's non std is a faff on BMWs

the K1300GT NOPE, its the sportier K1300S had shift assist (on up changes only) as a retrofit option - and whilst most of the important electrical parts are the same, the cluster and some switch gear is different so it might fight a bit...

out side the physical terrible BMW shifter bit, its buying the software license (FSC) then BMW waste time doing paperwork so their systems show your VIN as having the feature... and the you programme the feature on the bike - but that tool hasn't been out of the cupboard for 6 years - the newer tool can't programme ANYTHING on the older bikes (it just does basic diagnostics and service reset.)

and as it wasn't a feature to retro fit on your model NO BMW dealer will be of any help world wide - hooky kit and a clever kid could easily do it.....

fit an after market one - as for the box - they idea is to reduce stress on the box - so of course it will work on any bike

Think you might be misinformed,

According to the data i can find, shift assistant pro wasn't an option for the R9 series

It works on the LC models as they are wet clutch & have better engine balancing & damping , even then the shift from first to 2nd can at best be described as

F*kin lively ;)

As Leadfarmer says , it will more likley be aftermarket than OEM

I’ve fitted several translogic quickshifters to early gs bikes and twin cam bikes and when the first gs wc came out, the 2013 bikes never had the option, I even wrote the instructions for translogic, might be worth giving them a call.
