1200 GSA 1st 600 Service

I got my first service included as part of the deal when I bought mine too. But make no mistake, it's not "free", just part of a package deal. When you buy a new bike, the dealer has a certain amount of slack he can cut you - he might offer you a better part-ex, a deal on some accessories or clothing or a free service (or more likely a combination of all three). It's all just part of the game.

I got a 15% discount on the bike, so didn't mind paying the £130 for the first service.:D By the time I added the screen and aux lights, I was still "up" on the deal.:beerjug:

There are so many views on this subject do a search but trust me you will be more confused than you are now, run it in as BMW say is the best advice IMHO.

Slight thread resurection, I had my first service done today on my 1200GS, £92.76 at Chester Motorrad.

No haggling or anything, that was the "sticker" price, and was told they cover the labour charges on the first service so that figure was for:

4Litres of Oil £60.04
Oil Filter £10.07
Gasket Ring £0.34
Gearbox Oil £ £6.00
Sealing Ring £0.14
O-Ring £0.71

Gorgeous Georges cut was £15.46

Pretty impressed with the service, in fact very impressed they are a great bunch there, I will be making enquiries about taking my own oil in for future services though as I have got 3 x 4 litre containers of Castrol P1 Power Racing in the garage, and it was a damn sight cheaper than £60.04 + VAT.

Got a free brew and some great banter :) Makes all the difference

No, not scheduled in at the 600 one, final drive is though.

I changed my gearbox oil as soon as I got home from picking it up.

Never changed my gearbox oil either did the final drive oil though, got them to stick my head guards on as well.
