Stainless kits for the 1200GS will be available very shortly, possibly by the end of next week. All nuts bolts and washers.

Alternator cover, front timing cover, front discs, calipers and mounts, fork brace, spindle bolt. Front fairing bolts, handle bar cross brace headguard cover, left and right cam sprocket cover and breather, injector mounts, swing arm cover, torque arm, rear brake caliper, reservoir, rear master cylinder guard and hugger.

All bagged up in sections so easy to fit.

All for £50 - Plus insured postage £8

A good way to speed up corrosion on an alloy engine case is to fit stainless bolts, also why the hubs bubble

Air heads are as we all now accept much better built, but they are dissimilar metals and will lead to galvanic corrosion

Wouldn't an anti corrosive jointing compound like Duralac help prevent galvonic corrosion?

You're onto a loser arguing this one chap. There are 1,000s of 850s, 1100s and 1150s of all varients with S/S kits fitted that are still in perfect condition after years of use. In the case of my own bike this is certainly the case. 10 years old and lived its entire life 'outside'. The only 'corrosion' being on the front engine cover and nowhere near the fixings. Not only has Steptoe been supplying these kits for oilheads for years - so have the 'specialist' parts dealers - all with no reported problems whatsoever.

Any bolt will be a dissimilar metal. Only really a problem if immersed in sea water. Thats why boats have anodes.

. The only 'corrosion' being on the front engine cover and nowhere near the fixings.

And that happens regardless of what's fitted.

Dry or wet molybdenum disulfide or Never-Seez (or its generic equivalent).

But stainless steel also galls badly on other stainless steel. And titanuim is worse than stainless steel. So tiddley pop, nothings perfect. :D

Ill be taking a set when your ready. The big bolts one rocker covers would look good in SS.
