No choice just pot luck, I think it's down to what deal BMW get at the time your bike is built.
By the way the Metzlers are crap, you can ride the front of the edge of the tyre.

I noticed a local dealer has upgraded and priced a stock GS to a similar spec. Looks great! The spoked wheels really give the bike more of an edge looks wise, not much use without dirt tyres though. Like the beak, not the tinted screen (seems at odds with the overall look).
The seat - just makes the bike higher and seems a bit silly. Good saving on options though which is why if I was buying a new GS again, I'd consider it (but would change the screen...)

I just showed the pictuires to my wife and she couldn't see any difference between this bike and my present one....so I could do a stelthy upgrade without her knowledge! BUT I don't think I would notice any change either. I have had bikes with spoked wheels before - and cars too!

new me new bike
New to the forum, and i have just collected my new SE, from Bristol motorad bath road i am so happy. Had to fit the low seat (in black) but i am having it recoverd in the gray and black, i also had the problim with the engine bars , so i changed the head covers to the black plastic bmw ones and refitted my black engine bars it looks very cool. first 200 miles on the clock and i just got happer with every mile.
PS she tucked up in bed now, i will be dreaming about her
I forgot to say how i love my new bike she is my third GS and the best looking yet, i hope she sleeps well, first night in her new home and all that.

new bike smell, can't beat it. Sure is one of the best looking GSs so far

Pick up my first GS SE this saturday and i cant wait
test rode the GS Yesterday and i must say i was very very impressed, didnt want to hand it back, and i didnt enjoy my ride home from Dorchester on my XJR

Ive sat for 10 minute wondering what to write in reply to that statement.
I felt I had to comment, but the words are just not coming.
I feel Ive either been left behind, or maybe I'm still sleeping and this is one of these weird dreams where nothing makes sense until you wake up and realise that things are back to how they should be, and it didnt really happen.
Best looking GS so far ?? I think someone should give YOU a shake. Its time to get up . Here is a nice cup of tea.
The SE is a nice looking bike and I was seriously thinking about getting one. Then I realised I only really liked it so much because it was white and that it looked pretty similar to my GSA - seat, wheels, head protectors.
As a replacement for an old GS or other make of bike it makes sense. As an addition to an existing GS/GSA it doesn't.
