The PO of my project sold the final drive. I have a replacement but it is still connected to the shaft cover. The loctite needs heating to 120 degrees C so my question is, are the bearings still useable after that or does everything need changing out? Second point, based on recommendations, is not to use the loctite 620 when reassembling, the blue is fine. Thoughts?

Use a heat gun rather than a naked flame. You'll find the loctite melts at a lower temperature than stated too.

Heat gun will be fine blue will also be ok, some on here don’t use lock rite at all and have had no prob I have always used blue and had no probs. Heat gun will not affect bearing at all I have done this several times and all’s been well.
