1250 GSA - Still a wise move?

For me the new GS13 had developed more of what I don't need such as more power, less weight, smaller fuel tank, less wind protection, more knee bend, smaller screen, more electronics like the radar and daft centre stand lowering gubbins, flashing mirrors... very happy with my choice of a new 1250 GSA

Very much same feelings here, probably why I came to the same conclusion.

I’ve not ridden one but on the face of it the 1300 doesn’t really offer me anything that I feel I really need. Maybe better finishing on some components. See how I get on with a GSA.

To answer your earlier question I'm 6'1" with 33" leg so the standard GSA is ideal for me. However I have ordered and bought the low chasis version as from previous experience they steer quicker through the bends.
Never thought about it before but swapped over in Spain last year for an afternoon and the difference between the standard height and low chasis is noticeable through the corners.

Picked the new bike up today.
Unfortunately had an error message pop up on the way home saying,
“ Emergency call restricted, contact workshop” or something like that.
So I did and they came a picked the bike up and took it away again.
Currently have a new pair panniers sitting in the garage 🤷🏻‍♂️.

That message is a little bit annoying but often just means that the SOS system had a poor signal, on my triple black I just ignored it.
Sales guy told me about that but said what I was seeing wasn’t the same? Hence they took it back.
Warning triangle came on just after I left the dealer, due to traffic etc I couldn’t check what it was it was until I got home, a good distance .
Workshop are going to have a look.

Both my mate and I had that a bunch of times when we were in the Alps.
Most likely poor signal and not seen it since.

If I was on a remote area I’d think that more of a possibility but first appeared in a town centre , stayed on all the way home and cycled ignition a few times at when I got home. Appears every time. Can’t see it being signal related as I’m in a town but I didn’t have this feature on my GS so I don’t know.
As I said dealer thinks somethings amiss. See what they say.

Well that’s a shame, puts a dampener on the new bike experience.
Not going to help, but had no such messages on mine, though work and crappy wet weather put a limit on mileage done up here in East Yorks to only 500 miles in 3 months ownership.

Awkward time to get it in for the 600mile service, looking like it’s going to be the new year now.

Happy new bike day (y)

I’ve got a similar message in my BMW car at the moment, had it a few months ago, called assistance who said it was their end, it fixed itself up until last week but now it’s back

Could be connected ?

I had a similiar message recently (Actually "Emergency Call System Failure"), on several occasions, and definitely not in remote areas with no signal.

The warning triangle would stay on for 2-3 days. I couldn't find a specialized workshop, so had to settle for my local BMW dealer, who swapped out the switch assembly under the RH mirror as a warranty repair. It hasn't happened since.

Couldn’t find a specialised workshop….😂

Actually sales guy did say that may have to order a part when he picked bike up🤔

I’m sure I’ll get sorted, wouldn’t be riding at the mo anyway.

from that then, the deal is only available on the high rated finance at 8.9%- not availbale to cash buyer

i guess you could buy the bike on finance then pay it off within 7 days - sales man may be pissed but so what

emergency is probably to do with 2g network - there isn't really one anymore

That's a good deal if I ever saw one.

Bought it........ great deal, thanks to Dave at Halliwell Jones BMW Motorrad Chester.

Got it....and a top box too along with the new nav.....Great deal indeed.
The box and nav were included in the 18.740 price or extra?
Phenominal deal if included...!

Nice one, congratulations.
I spoke to Halliwell Jones and to be fair they were very good.
However by the time I’d factored in delivery there was only a couple of hundred quid in it and I thought it worth keeping in with my local dealer.
As it turns out , with the little issue I have, it proved worthwhile.
