1250 GSA - Still a wise move?

Nice one, congratulations.
I spoke to Halliwell Jones and to be fair they were very good.
However by the time I’d factored in delivery there was only a couple of hundred quid in it and I thought it worth keeping in with my local dealer.
As it turns out , with the little issue I have, it proved worthwhile.
Hi Hartley, I'd agree with your reasoning there.
But I have 3 Motorrad dealers local to me, all within an hour or less of my home address.
Only tried one of the others, but their deal was much more than 1k extra and so Halliwell got my order.
Hope you're enjoying your bike!

Picked the new bike up today.
Unfortunately had an error message pop up on the way home saying,
“ Emergency call restricted, contact workshop” or something like that.
So I did and they came a picked the bike up and took it away again.
Currently have a new pair panniers sitting in the garage 🤷🏻‍♂️.
Great stuff! Not the error message which I'd probably just have ignored as had that once or twice on my previous GS and it sorted itself, but fair play to Wollalston for being thorough!

Figured, I’m not riding it at the mo, they offered to pick it up, I might as well get it sorted. 👍🏻

Very Nice - we have different tyres!

I need to get mine run in & 1st service done..

Bridgestone A41s, same as I had on my GS when new. To be honest I’m not a Bridgestone fan. I know it’s mostly in my head and nearly all tyres are better than me but a bad experience a few years back put me off the brand.
What I will say is that when I ride my GS on the motorway on the A41s the bike always felt really stable, surprising so. Never felt like that on the subsequent Contis, though generally I liked the trail attacks.

I think I’m one of the very few who liked Anakee 3s, lasted forever but never any slips but very noisy on sustained motorway runs.
( I called them Anadin 3s)

Michelins on mine which came on my GS in '20 & were just fine - noisy front at the moment which I hope will quieten down with some use.

I always found AA3s to be ok, on my GS I changed them the Road 5, these were just as noisy. However the CTAs I have on the alloy wheels are much better noise wise. Haven't pushed them yet so don't know of a difference in other performance.

The 1250 GSA is still a real GS 👍 I hope they get the new R1300GSA or R1400GS right when it comes out in 9 months 🤞Hopefully with a real 1400 cc if they call it this way and better looking dual headlight without the radar box and real taillight ! Well see how bad they screw this one up like the rest in Germany lately…As for tires Metzeler TN2 are the best you can buy as of today ! Little less mileage than Conti TA3 but stick like glue…

First decent ride on the Rallye yesterday, off to Bridlington delivering Christmas presents and I started to feel really comfortable with the bike on the dry sections of road, I'm very happy with my choice of the 1250 Adventure... Just a pesky SOS system warning and a dubious low oil warning ⚠️.
I checked it and it is at the top of the red circle in the sight glass. But still, a great bike.

Scorpion Trail 2 are good but will be replaced by Trail 3 soon…Metzeler Tourance Next 2 is a better tire ! First one I could scrape my bags with without crashing 🤣

Out delivering festive goodies. 11 degrees, dry ish and a few more running in miles.

Most definitely still a wise move!!
