1250 picture

Shouldn't this thread be in a new 1250 GS forum rather than polluting our 1200 GS one? Please god don't make it the 1200/1250 GS thread - endless noise about failed jubilee clips, dodgy thermostats at 250 quid each and what coolant? threads will drive us mad. I'd rather go in with the 850/1100/1150 tossers than have that.
 
Drawing is correct on camshaft chain/gear drive. Gears drive the hollow camshaft jackshaft, and the so called balance shaft rotates inside it The knob on the end is the overhung extension of the balance shaft to try and damp the oscillations.

I thought of that too, but the gears are different sizes. The damper shaft would be turning at a different rate as the crank. All the oscillation dampers I've ever seen are geared one to one.
 
I think I'll have to give it at least a year to let all the development glitches get ironed out ......


Besides, I've barely run in my Anniversary GSA yet ...only got 10K miles on it and 3 months warranty left :D

Oh now I'm sure that they'll be MORE than happy to sell you a set of cross spoke wheels - for about $1500 or so each - and the dealer will even mount them right up - for $100/hr. no problem! :rob :D

They'll even "dispose" of those ugly old take-off wheels for you for free! What a deal! :comfort
