.... S !
Andy, The acid test is always getting back on your own bike after a test ride !
And if i'm honest, I spanked Cato home and it's still a blinding bike. I most certainly didn't get on it after the demo ride and feel disappointed.
For me there are two reasons for the change, firstly I'm on PCP and within the next few months I've got to either do another deal or pay off the balloon payment, so I may as well do another deal, and secondly I'm just not doing the off roading that I thought I would. Cato has had a good bash at it (local trails, a few events like the Taffy Dakar) but I shan't take it (properly) off road anymore.
So with that said, I don't need that big 21/90/90 up front. I actually quite miss a 17 or 19 front for road riding and that's probably the biggest difference in real world riding between the two bikes.
The 21 front is great for back B roads and really soaks up poor road surfaces, but yer just can't stick it into a corner like you can with a fatter 17/19.
What I did notice (if it makes you feel better!) is that the manual WP suspension on the 1190 is still bloody good and arguably (if it's set up well) better than any electronic suspension. The one thing that really put a smile on my face on the way home from the test ride was that suspension.
The other thing for me is that it would appear (dealer is 90% sure but will confirm) that the luggage is transferable, and that I can probably transfer my wings exhaust too. So i won't need to 'start again' with farkles and pipes and all that jazz. (Even Rosy's lowering foot peg hanger things will transfer over).
So same monthly budget, but new bike.
