Overall I like it, it looks good.
I was hoping for a conventional steel 'rounded' tank but it's not to be.
As for the 'mini screens' I'm not so sure.
Now all I have to do is wait for the lighter, lower model with a 240 mile tank range and that'll be me happy.

Jesus i've just cimp'd i will be selling my 1150 as soon as i get a test ride. The bike looks F'in awesome and makes the 1200 look GAY.

WOW, that looks AMAZING, i have to say i'm in awe of that. It looks fantastic, and i'd happily trade my standard 12 in for the GSA... alas the pennies probably won't allow... YET!!
Definately be interested in finding out if the tank would fit the standard, and i for one LOVE the look of those new crashbars, again, will be interesting to find out if they'll fit to the standard GS too....
hmmm, i'm off to the NEC this Sunday, and me thinks camera will be out, pics galore at the BMW stand!!!

I've been sitting here studying all the pictures for some time. I think I like it the more I look.
Just a couple of questions that might be answered when seen for real:
The add-on lights are mounted on mini-frames mounted on the protection bars. In the pictures without the add-on lights, the mounting holes are left exposed.
The extended rear rack and pannier rail mountings are fitted to the standard 1200GS plastic lugs alongside the rear seat. I'm assuming these have been beefed-up in some way because the standard lugs are a bit weak.
No mention (that I've seen) of a lower first gear option (handy when fully loaded).
I like the panniers. The extra lashing loops set on the angled section is a good idea as is what looks like bash-resistant corner caps but rather like the 1150 Adv luggage it does stick out a lot wider than some alternative pannier systems (see the head-on shot).
They don't seem to have addressed the 'soaking riders left leg issue.'
As ownership isn't a possibility for some months yet and it's likely that actually getting my hands on one to ride let alone buy will be difficult owing to demand, I feel content to sit back and wait. Maybe I'll hold off until it's in the last two years of it's production life (as I did with the 1150) to allow them to sort it out
On the other hand once it's in the show-rooms, I might just have an attack of the "Mister Toad's" and succumb. Toot! Toot!

looks to me like that new screen, the side screen thingys, the rear rack etc. could all be retrofitted onto the 12GS...

It's clear from the pics this design works and all credit for the range of accessories and fixing the stupid box locking design.
Like it a lot, as most seem to, and I suspect these pics have just caused more money to be committed for spending in the next 12 months than any other thread in these forums, ever.
It'll be interesting to watch the 1200 Adventure rise to the top of the charts.

Yeah yeah yeah....niceish, but to be honest, who needs it. OK, it looks a bit more butch, but it weighs more and who really wants to do 450+ miles in one go. I'm more for removing bits from my 1200 to make it lighter, faster, nimbler, rather than getting an overfed lardarse bike with a million things bolted onto it.

I am temped to get a 1200 adv, it would look good with me sitting on it. But.. I think I will wait for the 1250 adv.
