12GSA high quality pics

Ordered one from NOG...God I am a pushover....but seriously Oxford to Bracknell can be a bit hairy at times and well there's the gravelly bit where I go round the traffic on the A329(M) and then I need to carry my kit for my spinning class and a laptop and spare shirt and tie and sometimes I am so late leaving work that to stop for fuel would make me later and I'd be in even more trouble with the lovely wife so 33 litres is tip top and when I leave the village in the morning everyone will think i'm off to Morocco which is where I really want to go but feck it Bracknell will have to do - oh no just thought - will the new street color scheme clash with my Rallye II??? I'll just look at the pictures again....

I like the look, like SGT Plunk those crash bars are very honda-ish, not keen on the aux lighting think proper TT ones look better..

Are these the colours? Well pissed if can't have yellow :spitfire

I think am lucky had the 12 for just over 12 twelve months so not replacing till Sept 06, so think I will see how things develop.

IMHO you could see alot of the new GSA's getting standard 12 suspension to lose the height for us shorties. Lets be honest at 895mm your looking at an inside leg of at least 33" to be comfortable..

The tank range of 400 + in one go hope the saddle is an improvement on the current one.

The new screen is interesting  also if this bike is so much more off road why is it still sporting the standard GS12 bash plate?

I've been consistently quoted Feb-Apr 06. Steve (Defor) is #1 and I'm #2 at SLM.

Nice one, I'm with SPC but live in Shoreham and have been told March which is fine as I don't get my licence back until Feb 7th! What do you think of the new bike and do you know if a low gear option is available?

I like it. I was never impressed by the standard 1200.....just on looks, I've never ridden one.

As for those questioning the need for a large tank, you don't have to fill it all the way up if you don't want to. The point is, it's there if you need it! I for one, absolutely detest stopping at petrol stations when all I want to do is get home after a long day at work. Filling this thing up would mean just one stop a week instead of two. Big tanks are great for those of us who use their bikes every day, not just those off on big tours, or those that want to look like they're off on big tours, or those with small appendages!

Really like the colours too. I can't see me buying one for a while but I think I'll have a good choice of 1150ADV's in the small ads and showrooms shortly.

Oh yes you do, it's compulsory. I've tried many times to fill my Adventure half way and always carry on till it's full.

Not only full, but to the brim, otherwise what was the point in drilling the neck.

I've got a January 04 GSA. I bought it because neither the 1150GS or 1200GS were available at the time and I wanted to get a bike again (after my “off” in 2002) and I wanted another GS of some type. Despite what many people believe the 1150GS and GSA and the 1200GS are very capable off road, as long as you’re not in a hurry, and I enjoy a challenge

I very much like the look of the 1200GSA but I also love the HP2 and my 1150GSA is almost 2 years old, time to change perhaps :D

I spent some time last weekend drooling over my friend Nigel’s HP2 :green gri at the Cambrian Rally, I was offered a go but was too involved in running the event to take him up on it, but I was very impressed. For my intended use however it has two drawbacks, a lack of range (the fuel tank is too small) and no means of adding luggage.

I believe both concerns will be quickly addressed, quick fit/removable additional side tanks (similar to the 1200GSA) and panniers are sure to be just around the corner and then I will be spoilt for choice – HP2 Adventure or 1200GSA. I know the HP2 is expensive but it is special and I do like it, but I also like the look of the 1200GSA so it’ll be a hard decision, particularly as SWMBO has already said – if you want one go ahead (that’s how we’re still happily married after over 30 years) :love

If some believe it’s all an ego/macho trip they’re probably at least partly right, but having ridden off road bikes for over 35 years and having tried quite a number of different off road capable “adventure” bikes I’m convinced the GS is the best, at least for me.

Caponord

You blokes will fall for for anything, its the age old con, show them the pics then tell them they can't have one, yet, what a joke.

The engine has the same spec on BHP and Torque as the Caponord 1000, it even looks just like a Caponord, except that the Capo costs half. It will be interesting when the Capo has the 1200 V twin engine that Aprilia are developing and I'd like to see a 1050 engined Tiger against it, hold on to hard earned this is to be continued.

Still has the girly oval clocks I see, not for me.

I cant stop looking at those pics, I want a red and grey one, looks awesome, anybody want a 2002 F650GS Dakar???

Bloody ell, they must have been designing it all night to get the balance so spot on!! It stands up on its own

Me, I commute daily and have to stop for fuel every four days. With a tank like that I could go for nearly two weeks :thumb

Sorry to rain on your parade folks but has anyone bothered with a sanity check on the claimed number.

The standard R12 gives approx 200-230 miles on the 21 liter tank. How does the figure double by adding 50% capacity? I think it should be more in the range of 350 miles.

i think i will wait for the f800gs dakar , i just like to have a bike i can pick up when i drop it without breaking my back :D :D
