SITUATION
Situation 1) Li-Ion battery is discharged below 2.5 Vdc.
Situation 2) Fault stored for wrong battery.

Cause:
Situation 1) The new battery is in transportation mode and only has 2.5 Vdc of charge. Transportation mode is only relevant for new batteries.
Situation 2) The battery was not installed correctly.

Pretty sure I had this check / correction done at the beginning of May. They said it was a new resolution from BMW.
They ran the software and found no issues.

NB - they had to disconnect the Motocan (Ezeecan) before the software would run clear. They then reconnected it and all has been good until yesterday.

This sounds plausible but yesterday error occurred after a pretty vigorous 100 miles ride and a short lunch stop.
The error popped up within the first five minutes of riding after the break maybe 30 mins - so can't believe that the battery isn't fully charged, but who knows.

yep, my last trip to scotland i stopped c.150 miles and fuelled up. messages came om leaving garage, literally stopped 100m down the road and switched off and on and messages cleared.

apparently any short period from switching on to starting can have this effect, putting on gloves / taking off stand etc. They have said the batteries are that fragile, apparently you will get the messages all the time when the temp is c.5degs.

theyll either remove the lithium batteries (it's an option to have lead acid now) or update the software to ignore the miniscule voltage drop.

I've had my new bike for a month now, I watched the videos on YouTube about the suspension problems, I don't have active ride height, does this look normal? Ignition is turned on20250608_103214

I can't get the video to upload but it's exactly the same as the YouTube video on this thread with the pogo effect suspension

Yes I've sent the video to the dealer and waiting for a reply, could anyone else please turn your bikes ignition on and give it a wee bounce 🙏 just to compare

I think it's normal & depends on your suspension\mode\damping settings until you start the engine &\or put weight on the bike & start riding. It's auto adjust & changes the suspension according to settings & load.
Mine bounces if you do like on the video & just switch it on.
 
Mine’s pretty bouncy too when you drop it off the center stand, I think that’s normal, it works brilliantly when you’re riding

I guess the damping is wide open until it gets some weight on it with the ignition on or maybe it actually needs to be moving before it sets itself :nenau
 
Thanks guys, it's on it's way back to BMW now just to be sure there is nothing wrong, it's as boingy with the bike started as it is with just the ignition switched on
 
On arrival at Bilbao a few weeks back I powered the bike up and a suspension warning flashed up , The take the bike to a dealer message shite . I shut the ignition down a few time and it eventually went away , Could it be the ratchet strap was too tight for the crossing, Anyway I haven't had another warning.

bmw have investigated and the result is that if the ignition is on the battery voltage drops a little bit and the bike shuts off unnecessary elements ie. electronic suspension, when the bike is fired up all systems kick back in and everything is normal, they showed me another bike doing the exact same thing as mine in the showroom. So according to bmw it's normal and nothing to worry about.

So, turn it off and back on again?
 
Yep 100% correct. See my post 103 above.

Used my bike this weekend which suffered a lot from the messages, power up and start and haven’t had the messages again. Bit annoying but happy I know how to avoid the errors.

Glad that’s sorted for you but my experience of shutting off and restarting hasn’t made any difference.
The error remains.

Neither has trying to start it in the charger or leaving it overnight on the charger and trying again in the morning.

Erratically the message does disappear but I cannot see any logic to it going or coming back.

I didn’t experience any issue at all until I installed the Moto-lights and I wondered if this could be causing a drain on start up resulting in the error flashing up.

The tech guys I’ve spoken to thought this was unlikely.
 
Just noted that Pistolpete doesn’t have the adaptive ride height - mine does so that makes it a different issue I guess.

Smartbazzer - I can’t recall if yours has it or not?

Mines going in for the third time next week- personally I’m getting the feeling that they’re clutching at straws to try and locate the issue- but fingers crossed. 🤞

yep i have adaptive ride height. dealer told me it's the first thing the system drops to ensure the bike has the volts to start. your lights may be causing a similar issue?

This sounds like a battery issue then
