Is the rear shock of a 1995 1100GS identical to the rear shock on a 2002 1150GS. I am having my 2002 shock rebuild, but the rebuilder found a shattered something or another when he opened it up. I need a replacement internal part and found a 1100 shock. Anybody have any idea if these two are fully interchangeable?

No they are not, different lower mounts, not sure if any internals could be used though:beer:

I am after a rear shock for my 1100GS though...

After months spent trying to find a decent second hand aftermarket shock (and wondering whether to get the original refurbished) I just changed the 19 year old original shock on my 1100 for a new Hyperpro built to suit my usual loading (at least solo fully loaded). The difference is stunning and though it was pretty expensive, its worth it.

The only problem is that it shows up the front end and I'm now debating getting a front too :blast

Ok, thanks to all. You are right about Hyperpro, great shocks and superior service. I have bought two of them in the past. I need a used shock, but it is a long story for another time involving a trip with unexpected events in Mexico, some very bad mountain roads, and doing whatever you can get to get back on the road. A story for another time.
