As I approach my 72nd birthday I've decided to "downsize" my bikes, in both size and numbers. My 8th GS is coming to the end of the PCP agreement and I won't be having another (see my "PCP coming to an end" post), I need something smaller and lighter.
And unfortunately the same logic applies to my RD07A Africa Twin.
I bought it off here a little over 3 years ago, it was a bike I had always yearned for and i needed to "scratch the itch". Although not mint by any stretch of the imagination it was, and still is, in excellent condition. All I've done in the time I've had it his fit new tyres and tubes and a new battery.
The guy I bought it off had stripped it down and had the frame and fairing brackets shot blasted and powder coated. Whilst it was out of the bike the engine was steam cleaned and serviced and checked by a Honda mechanic. Also the wiring harness and all fittings and cables were checked and various mods completed.
The forks are fitted with Intimidator fork valves, it has a taller screen, a facet fuel pump has been fitted and the rectifier was changed to one from the USA.
A new DID chain and rear sprocket were fitted along with a new Honda front sprocket. It had new head bearings, and all the swinging arm and wheel bearings were replaced.
It also has a chain oiler with the oil tank behind the number plate, FatBar handlebars, heated grips, a Corbin seat, crashbars and a centre stand.
As I said earlier I have just fitted new tyres and tubes (less than 500 miles ago) and a new battery. It has passed each MOT with no advisories.
The mileage is 29,700.
I would like around £4,950 for this appreciating legendary motorcycle.
Cheers
Bob
