Just had my 1st (Running In) Service carried out and everything has been done to my satisfaction. Total cost was £64.66 which was all for consumables. The only thing which puzzles me is the £28.19 plus VAT for Final Drive Oil. Looking at the Bike it looks like the Final Drive can,t hold more than about half a litre so at that price it must be Liquid Gold never mind Liquid Engineering !!. Part Number is C33.11.695.240. Anyone else had this stuff "fitted" at the First Service.

The final drive fluid is changed at the first service to clean out all the lubricants and greases from initial assembly. Once changed they are then a 'lifetime' item (I'm just waiting for all the 11xx guys to jump in with how long it will take for the final drive to fail)
Final drive oil is mega expensive and that's why it gets a part number.
However I've just had my first service at Cooper's and was not charged for this 'part' but just the other consumables (£48 IIRC)

Are you sure they changed it??

Oh yes, I waited while he did it. The final; drive has to be dismantled to get the fluid out.
