So…. just had my renewal through after my first year of biking. Nearly a whole year of 1250 fun…

I’m 45, gained A licence in Dec 24,bought the GS last March, now 1 yr NCB. I also live in Birmingham, in a postcode that is considered high risk apparently.

Last year - £1498
Renewal - £517

I would have been happy with just a reduction but I’m over the moon with that. I’m yet to do other quotes but wont be disappointed if it doesn’t go down anymore.

Vehicle insurance is a weird puppy to deal with sometimes 😂

All things considered the renewal price doesn't look that bad. I always use the bike insurer to see what's on offer.

This year Cornmarket wanted over £350 for me (69 yo, full NCD, clean licence) but somehow managed to get it down to £210 after I could get similar cover with Hastings premium for just under £200. If you get better quotes try ringing your insurer up, they will often talk to their manager/the underwriter/take a smaller cut/ apply a discount to try and match or get near the opposition price to keep your business

Thats bloody good,

my 2011 TC, stings me for £350 as its a TE or TU and its not listed on the list of std bikes ( go figure)
