97k miles, MOT September 2025, well maintained and serviced, lots of paper history. Sailed through the last MOT with no advisories.

I am thinking of changing my Skoda Fabia which is a second car and is only used for local journeys, shipping etc. So, just testing the water here, I thought I’d offer it up here to see if any Tosser wants a cheap reliable runabout. I am only the third owner; I bought this from Nin of this forum in January 2013. It was last serviced in 2023 and has only covered 2000 miles since then.

Good Stuff
• Cam belt and water pump changed early in 2020 at 90k miles (should have been done at 120k miles)
• New battery in January
• New ABS pump and sensor in 2024
• Bomb proof Volkswagen 1.9 TDi engine which is quick
• Economical 55-60 mpg on a run
• No annoying DPF to go wrong
• No rust – solid body all round
• Four good tyres with plenty of miles in them
• Cable connection fitted by Nin to the radio/CD to plug into a mobile phone to play MP3 files
• High spec includes – heated seats, electric windows/mirrors, A/C, Cruise Control, parking sensors, OBC giving loads of info such as temperature, Avg MPG, range etc
• Headlamps polished with headlight restorer kit in 2023
• Loads of supporting paperwork as evidence of maintenance and care, all MOTs etc
• Rubber boot cover to protect the carpet
• Four internal rubber mats
• Original First Aid Kit
• Good spare tyre
• 12v Socket in boot

Not so Good Stuff
• Scratches on front near side wing courtesy of a supermarket parking muppet who did a runner. See photo
• Scuffs on left hand wing mirror shell. See photo
• Scuffs and a crack in the right-hand mirror shell – another muppet who did a runner! See photo
• Wheels are ok but, front nearside has some kerb rash and the others have a few blemishes.
• Some age-related blemishes on the bodywork, after all it is a 21-year-old car, but nothing serious or unsightly.
• The gear layout graphic on the gear know has worn through – no big deal really
• There is a button on the driver’s side to operate the passenger window, it is not working but the window operates normally from the passenger button. Could be just a dirty connection.

I have found one other similar car on Autotrader which is 11 months younger but has 38k miles more on the clock and is listed for £1495.

Skoda Fabia Elegance

I’ve been very honest with the description and given the above I’m only asking a very reasonable Tosser price of £1200.

I’m not going to advertise it elsewhere as I don’t want to be plagued by tyre kicking time wasters making stupid offers. If it doesn’t go I’ll p/x it.

What a great little nippy car, I had one for commuting a few years ago, used to see 72mpg average on the display on a 40 mile commute, try and do that on a modern car,

A 2nd 👍 for the 1.9 deisel motor! I bought a 220,000 mile Audi A4 last month from here and with the fitment of a £30 tuning chip that looks like it’s come out of a Christmas cracker, it returns a regular 60mpg at motorway speeds and 70mpg if you are just keeping up with traffic locally. It’s also given the car a noticeable amount of extra ooomph too! I’m in car heaven 😂😎

Now provisionally sold to dicktheleg following his inspection and test ride, thanks for your interest everybody. I must admit I never thought it would go that quick.

It’s a bloody brilliant car. The 1.9TDi is bomb proof. We got a 2 seat sofa in the back and brought it all the way down from northern Scotland in a oner.
