2005 R1200GS CLUTCH FLUID PROBLEM

Ive replaced the clutch hose and refilled the system with dot 4 fluid, i understand that actually your supposed to use a mineral oil, is this a problem?

YES drain it out straight away. depending on the seal materials it could eat the seals and u could end up having to replace them all or worst case buying new parts.
 
Too late its shagged, bm say there is no seal kit available, is there one?
 
Theres an online parts fiche at A&S motorcycles (USA), IIRC there's a link to it in the "font of all wisdom" section. Maybe worth a look?
 
The bore is: 24mm, groove in the piston is: 18mm the width of the groove is 4.60mm. It would have to be a fairly soft seal being a low pressure application.
I could source them from my supplier (I buy a lot of seals for my factory).
If you have a problem I will contact them on monday.

Im trying to get seals made at the moment, will keep you updated, thanks for help so far
 
CLUTCH SEALS

I had the seals made via a bike shop in london that were very helpful, all done and going again. i didnt do the slave unit i got hold off a s/h one anyway sold the bike now, couldnt put up with the endless warning lights, battery draining etcetc,,,,, bought a 950ktm
