I was going to buy an R1150R 2002 34K for £2200 but this came up.
Not sure on the new tech
but lighter more powerfull
MMM which one
Help:nenau

The 1200s are lighter and more powerful than the 1150. A remapped or black boxed bike is amazingly quick for it's weight. The early models have more problems than the twin cam versions.

Mk1 to 2007 has a weak final drive. Internal bearings fail and there are other issues such as servo brakes prone to failure.
Mk2 (2008-2009) has the later style but pretty much the older engine and trans, though final drive is a bit stronger. This model is also variable on paint quality some suffered badly with rust on bulk painted steel frame parts.
Mk3 (2010 to 2013) has most of the issues sorted and is holding it's value better than the other models.

Fuel strips fail regularly on Mk1 and Mk2. Mk3 solved it with a float gauge.

All versions with minimal use are likely to need a new alternator. The winding core delaminates and cracks the casing. Eventually it seizes solid. This might also affect the 1150.

They all tend to corrode around fasteners on the engine front casing.

My previous bike was a non servo Mk2 registered June 2007.

Can't say, but the upside is that the newer type is serviceable at a reasonable cost.

Make sure the 2007 is the build date and not the registration date.
