2007 r1200gs burning oil on startup

100,000 miles. Only when on side stand but it seems to be happening every second day.

Other than leave it on the Center stand is there a way fix /avoid this? I understand the oil is seeping past the rings.

I always try to leave my RT on the main stand

It is the best solution but the new home is on a hill and has a camber. And that just my driveway!

In that case I would put up with it doing it and keep a regular check on the oil level

My RT is an LC and occasionally does it when on the side stand

My first GS was a brand spanking new 06. It only ever did it once in 60000 miles of use and that was on day 2 of ownership

Wear Dark Sunglasses and the problem will dissapear. Stop obsessing.

Mine does it occasionally.
Usually if I've left it ticking over on the side stand for a minute or 2 before switching off the engine. then it might smoke a bit starting up. Very rarely though.
The ex missus had a 2010 twin cam that would do it on occasion as well.
I don't worry about it now.
