2007 vs 2008 seat

I have the low seat option on my 2008 GS, (not my choice), and am in the market for a standard one. I have a few seat offers from 2007 GS owners, but not sure on compatability, can anyone shed any light?

My dealer did a straight swap for a standard seat. Have you asked them?

I believe the low seats are rarer and therefore more in demand.

AFAIK they are the same design - I just got a standard seat very cheap on eBay with a view to having it gel inserted/custom covered if I am OK with the height compared with the Low Seat on my '08. I didn't even think to check which year of production the one I bought was from, but suspect it was not an '08 and it definetly fits.

08 Seats definitely have a different fitting! I had a Wunderlicht (sp) sent for my 08 and when it didn't fit (at all!) the supplier said it was for an 07 and he had expected them to be the same. The Kahedo 08 is different to the 07 model too (or so I have been told by TT!).

But if you know different for sure EggChasser it'd be interesting info!

I don't 100% know different, although I seem to remember my brothers '06 seat also fitted my '08 - I'd be a bit worried at comparing with 3rd party seats (Wunderlich etc) as they might adjust something that makes it not fit across the production years.

As an aside the low seat leaves less space for the tool roll etc compared with the standard seat so a similar difference from a 3rd party would make things not fit but actually be independent of the production year.

OK looks like they did change something to do with the seat on the 2008 model as per details and presskit links in the thread

As I still don't know what year the seat I bought is from and it does fit my 2008 - I wonder if they only changed the padding/comfort level and not the seat base...
