2008 GS the bling has beglun!

Noticed the Touratech seat has been taken off, any reason?

Went with a set of Kahedo LDC (Long Distance Comfort) seats also distributed by Touratech for 2 reasons, one the single seat meant I could not move the GSA topbox forward into the pillion position for solo touring and two they are black at the sides rather than grey.:blast

The first is legitimate the seconds cause I'm a style tart, but I'm very impressed with Kahedo as a manufacturer :thumb

Hi Thunder,
Have you ridden your new bike with the Illmberger hugger fitted. Does it clear the suspension shroud etc.?
I notice that on Nippy Normans site they sell two versions, to fit with & without the ESP.
I am asking as I have an Illmberger hugger on my 05 GS & was hoping to put it onto my 08 GS when it arrives.

Do you know which version of the Ilmberger you have?

The Mark 1 version which mounts on the brake caliper and the torque arm does not cover as much area as the Mark 2 which mounts on the bevel drive.

I have the Mark 1 currently fitted and while I've been limited with riding it does not cause a conflict with the ESA option.

Thanks Thunder, sounds like I have a Mk 1.
Sorry to be ignorant, where is the bevel drive mounting ??

That windscreen is huge. Do you feel any wind? The two piece seats look better. My opinion. Overall bike is very smart. What next?

From the limited riding I've managed so far the GSA screen works well on the bike, no buffeting and lots of protection and the cross brace which it uses makes it very stable.

Since those pictures were taken I've added the GSA winglets as well which I'd fitted on the previous bike so I know how much of a difference they make not only for the rider bt for the pillion.

Pretty much finished, just have to sort out the lighting (HIDS) and trying to improve on the stock horn for the benefit of cage drivers who find me invisible. :spitfire

Had Stebel Magnuns on the last bike but they won't work on the 08 with the ESA so I'm experimenting. :augie

Not mine but I think it could be the next change :augie

I did wonder ...

... when you'd get around to more black paint. My main issue with the 12's in general is the lack of 'co-ordination' between the parts which I find a bit 'busy'. That said, the one below was photographed at the '05 Belgium GS rally and I think looks good. The fact that the owner was an absolutely gorgeous 6' blonde female Dutch bike cop had nothing whatsoever to do with it; and she rode the balls off it :augie
