When my 08 gsa arrives I want to fit my pro avi autocom to it. I have noticed that you can buy a plug for the aux socket. Someone has done this for a sat nav. Can i do this for the autocom. It sounds the best way as the power needs to go off with the ignition. Also does the 2008 bike have a socket near the headstock or is under the seat? thanks

I'd guess that the 08 bike will have the plug under the seat (as in under the edge but get at able when the seat is on) like the 07 model. And, that you can fit an extra one up in the winglet area.

I power my Autocom from the under the seat socket with no problems. Have a search for Powerlet or Hella or have a look on Nippy Normans site.

There is another socket on 07 bikes at least which is usually used for GPS powering, which I do on mine, again no problems with it :)

I have a zumo but was going to fit that straight to the battery. did you strip the wires from behind the socket and solder or did you get a plug for the aux socket?

My lead was supplied ready made from a now defunct company north of Hadrians wall :augie

However, if you want to go the ignition switched route, which personally I think is best, have a look at this sticky: http://www.ukgser.com/forums/showthread.php?t=117400 it uses the same sort of plug :thumb2

Saves messing about with fuses etc etc and increasing the possibilities for failures.

I have tried nippynormans to no avail.
Does anyone know where I can get these adaptor plugs from.
I will try the dealer tomorrow

Hi Oly, Give Southport Superbikes a ring, thats where I got my adapter from. should be no more than a tenner.

Yes i have . will use this . Just got to get the plug but i have the part number and the worst case is that the dealer will have to order in which takes no more than 2 days normally
