2010.20 EU NT Maps released

Schtum

I followed everything you suggested.

I re-loaded my old version of Mapsource(Version 9) and used your link to update it. Totally successful in that respect.

However, when I tried, as you suggested, to load the maps from my unit to Mapsource on computer, I got the message that there were nNO MAPS on my unit.!!!. WTF.. I know there are maps on the thing as I have studied it in a way that I know every button press.
There is a page which tells me the version of maps installed and what software version too. Everything is there. I can ask to go anywhere and quicker than my old SP111 it's ready before I know it.

Must be a quirk with the 1300T.

I want to thank you for your assistance on this.
I may have gotten a bit ratty earlier but after a hard days work, coming home and sitting here at this computer for about 2.5 hours and getting nowhere, all before I had something to eat or drtink just got to me.
Accept my apologies for any unintended "spat".

I think the problem is that the map data on the nüvi 1300T isn't City Navigator Europe NT. It might be a cut-down version but it's described by Garmin as "preloaded maps for the UK and Ireland and ecoRoute™ to calculate a more fuel-efficient route".

As such, it looks as if it doesn't communicate with Mapsource at all; hence Mapsource telling you that your unit has no maps installed.

What does it say on the update disc that Garmin sent you, ie what is the name of the mapset?

You're welcome Pat - no "spat"......:D

I am off to bed soon.
She-who-loves-me has come home and is waiting for me.

I have looked at the packaging on the disc. Cardboard sleeve.

I think that's why your map update stopped. Garmin have sent you the full update to City Navigator Europe NT 2010.20 and your unit only has the maps for UK and Ireland pre-installed on it. It would be interesting to see if it has updated the maps that you have installed before it quit. I can think of two new roads, local to me which are included on 2010.20 and were absent on the previous version, so it would be possible to find out if your maps have been updated if you want to pursue it.

It never got as far as installing. :tears
I got to the "Install" bit and clicked Install. The little hour glass figure spun round about 3 times and then I got the message ,,,",,, previous maps version is not installed,,"

I had a reply from Garmin to the Email I sent.
The guy , Jon, wants to know word for word what is written on the disc.:nenau
So, you may be right on the "Wrong Disc" being sent.

Thanks again for your help.:bow:bow

Schtum.

Garmins help guy reckons that the disc has a "Phone Home" feature which at present has a technical fault.:nenau

He advises waiting a week(when problem should be resolved) and try again. Not very good for a multi national company eh.!:pullface

I sit and wait.

I am still in dialouge with Garmin.:tears
I think I have supplied them with all the info I was asked for.
A slight error on my behalf when I mentioned I had 2012.10 mapping installed instead of 2010.10.,, Must be thinking of Olympics,,:pullface

I was asked to Copy Paste this conversation on here but found it confusing.
I could copy paste individual responces or whole page including headers and banners.!!:nenau

Keep you posted.

Be Safe.

Just highlight (left click and drag mouse) any words you want, then copy (contol c or right click and copy) and paste (control v or right click and paste) the bits you want. Like this:

Thanks Wappping.:thumb2

I think the guy wanted the whole conversation in an E mail too.
I did try to copy paste the pages seperately and paste each into a Email box one after other and some of the lines were mixed up. Made no sense at all.

I have given him the headings on the top of each page. The bit where you type in www.ukgser.com and all that follows.
He's an IT guy so should understand that much.

Apparently he is suggesting some .IMG files may be misssing from the Garmin Drive.

Thanks again.
