2010 ESA on GSA - Not so much adjustment ?

Hurrah,

You know how from time to time, you just have a really good day...?

Well yesterday I had a day off, so I fitted the accelerator module thingy and went for a bimble. (more on that later in the appropriate thread...).

It was a beautiful day, had a bit of a spank down some B roads, and stopped for a cuppa at the local bike shop. A number of sports bikes turned up, (knee sliders, fekin' great big chicken strips on their tyres..:blast) had a chat, then off I pootled.

Just this last couple of years i suppose, i've really got into staying off the main roads and playing on the back b roads. They're quiet, the derestricted bits are camera free, and you can give your brain a work out without potentially loosing your licence. (Stretch ...!!!! :thumb ).

Anyhow, I was in the middle of nowhere, the sun was out, it was a beautiful blue sky, rape fields just starting to come into colour... and I passed a finger post for a byway. I actually drove past it, thought about it for a couple of hundred metres or so, and then thought ... Sod it!!, so turned around and went back. It was part of the Pilgrims way.

I can't deny I was a tad nervous ... I off road at work, but probably only once a month, and then its a pukka off road bike with decent tyres. So I'm not a natural on the dirt by any stretch. But hey, isn't this what the GS is all about?
So I tweaked the ESA, took a breath and went for it.

BRILLIANT!!!! :roll

Twenty minutes of, unscripted, off the cuff, green laning in full leathers in the middle of blinking nowhere wth some shopping in the top box!!! Turned off the ASC, and gingerly popped the odd wheelie over the rutts and pot holes. Passed a few walkers, 'Morning ... Hello... Thankyou...!!' then spat myself out onto a road a few miles from where I started, ESA back to one up sport, ASC back on, then spanked it home!!

Now some of you may well be reading this thinking, 'Err, and?.... I do that every sunday....'

But for me, this is a revelation! Over 25 years of sports touring (vfr's, zx6's ... 1300 pan... etc etc) to have a bike that will behave like this is just a breath of fresh air!!

Fantastic !! :clap

(Oh, and to stick to the thread .. the ESA was brill, i particularly noticed the change, switching back to road settings - the front forks collapsed by what felt like about 9''... :thumb2)
