What are you guys getting to a tank of fuel? Also when the range goes to 0 how much more mileage do you do. I have filled up with the range at 0 and the bike only held 14.5 litres.:nenau

suggest you use the trip - you should expect 200+ miles as it takes 20 litres. I have at least another 2 litres when the computer says zero but haven't run it dry yet.

Trip? Am I missing something? I've got range, tyre pressures, air temp, clock, mpg, oil level etc but no trip? It's a big oversight IMO as most bike gauges are not that accurate and I use the trip as a backup.

Mind you I've done the same with the car for years ever since the fuel gauge packed up on an old Morris Marina years ago and ran out of fuel :blast :D

Err yes you have two trip meters, press the button under the display :augie

Bit of an update. Rode the bike for 25 miles after it went to 0. I had a total of 193 miles when I filled up and it held 18 ltrs. I now firmly believe 200 miles is achievable through a variety of riding styles. Hope this helps.:thumb2

what are 2010 tossers getting on their av mpg gauge - i reset every fillup and am getting around 55mpg which makes me :)

I have had 4 1200 GS's and they have all averaged 54/55 mpg. They also have never used any oil. When MCN or whoever road test the GS they all say about oil consumption and fuel about mid 40's. To all those people I say when you spend your own money on a bike you ride it accordingly.:aidan

Is this another one of those piss taking threads......well is it/ :nenau

Which bit? I have toput my hand up and admit I had no idea the bump on the instrument panel was a button for the trip :blast In my defence I've had the bike a few weeks coming from a VFR and I checked the manual for bits like running in procedure, tyre pressures etc but a mechanic at the dealers went through the controls. To me it would seem logical that the trip would be on the info button with everything else :nenau

Each time I've filled up so far the range has said about 15 miles left but I've only ever got about 14 or 15 litres in the tank. Last time I let it run until it said 0 and I got about 18 litres in so to me I tend to go off the range but know there's still a bit left in case the nearest garage a bit further. 200 miles per tank seems about right. My VFR used to get to one bar flashing at about 175 miles but I have stretched it to 220 so being cautious is not limited to BMW.

veefour :thumb - I read the manual from to cover to cover and it also took me a few rides to discover the trip function. agree the button doesn't look like an obvious one. (Too many smart arses on here) :pullface
