Hello all from Canada. I've just joined this forum hoping that I can gather some info regarding rebuilding a GS. I joined another GS forum and asked the same questions as I will ask here but I think the members there are not much for DIY. Anyway, I have the opportunity to purchase a wrecked 2010 GS with only 19000km with ABS, ESA but I'm trying to cost out the price of rebuild parts. The damage is all front end so it will need forks, rim, exhaust header and timing chain cover. The other forum pointed me to realoem.com for parts compatibility which was quite helpful. According to that site only late '08 and newer models will interchange parts with 2010. What I am wondering is if I can use pre '08 parts for the rebuild - mainly the forks and the cast rim. I imagine the header will not fit since the engine changed but I can't see why a pre '08 set of forks or a rim would not fit.
Apologies for the long winded post and thanks in advance for all the replies.
