2010 model recall?

Had Cam sensor changed on Friday and it has made no difference so I think BMW need to rethink what is causing problem

blip

Not had the same issue, although it did cut out once as I blipped the throttle to hear that beautiful exhaust rasp, but just blamed that on myself for being a big kid :augie
See my thread, posted yesterday, no response from dealer yet re recall or why it happens. Now looking at an accelerator module, but want to know how it goes on the 2010.

New 2010 GS bought in May 2010,Cam Sensor replaced at 600 miles, now 6000 miles no Problems, mind there where none before just a great Bike Im luving it,and its get better every Day:)

Davnjud mines did this initally I got in touch with Dealer (Calterdon of Inverness), They replaced a Cam Sensor, at first no change but been great since. It does get better the more miles I'm at 5,800 now. :) So don't know if Cam Sensor fixed it or the loosening of engine?

Mine has been doing this since the day I bought it... perhaps I should change my riding style but, every now and then I 'Blip' on the change down and the bike will cut out. I did this last Friday on the A17 and it cut out at around 30mph going from 3rd to 2nd... I was glad the usual 'tin pushers' on that road weren't tailgating me as they usually try to do...

Still it is a 2010 GSA with 19,000 miles on it so it has had a number of services...

Will get Balderston's to investigate...

mines up to 8500. ever since the 6000 mile service I have been a bit suspicious that it has lost some smoothness - most noticeable when trickling between 20 - 30 mph in 2nd or 3rd, particularly on the overrun and especially so if i haven't put optimax fuel in. taking into southport superbikes tomorow - i wonder if the throttle rebalance and cam sensor readjust was slightly off at the 6000 mile service. will let you know what comes of it.

My 2008 GSA has been doing this on odd occasions. Quite exciting not knowing whether your engine will still be running when you're changing down at low speeds in a busy town! Can't be arsed to do anything about it though as I like to live with the adrenaline rush.

Obviously keeping 'the dream' alive!

On my 18000 mile service the guys at Balderstons looked at the balancing; I think it may have something to do with this but, I am not expert.

Check valve timing on left side as well cos they've managed to throw that side together as well in an adhoc manner

See my latest post on thread about engine cut out. anyone heard anything more about an engine related recall in the offing for 2010 bikes ?
Had my first service at the weekend
Dealer (Benham)said they had to replace fuel senor as recall precaution

My 2008 GSA cut out on me on Saturday for the first time, it was a bit unnerving. I had just leant the bike hard over around the exit of a roundabout, tank about a third full of fuel, and then stood the bike up and gunned it a bit before rolling off again. I opened the throttle and then realised nothing was happening, glanced at the tacho and saw it was dead. Coasted to a halt in a layby, cycled the ignition switch and she fired up no problems.

How bizarre.

Presumably the fuel pump temporarily lost suction as I came around the roundabout, then I used up the fuel in the lines as I gunned it down the road ?

I would doubt that your fuel pump would have lost suction, unless there's something wrong with the pickup tube. Remember, the fuel would have remained centered in the tank in a leaning turn. Sounds more like some kind of electrical or computer glitch to me.

just realised i hadn't replied here - they adjusted the cam timing and rebalanced the carbs though this should have been done correctly 2500 miles earlier and now it is fine.
