If you need any mileages/distances and timescales between locations i..e Fez to marrakesh, marrakesh to ouza and the gorges etc etc, or co-ordinates of hotels, contact me. :thumb

And me - asifmo

Excellent. Shapeshifter is taking the (fully booked) Portsmouth-le Harve on Thursday April 1st arriving @ 8am. Metisse and I are on the Eurotunnel that same night departing @ 642pm and will stay at the local Ibis and leave Calais c 8am on Friday morning. Friday night we've all booked into the Ibis Bayonne and Metisse is looking into a hotel for the Saturday night in Algiceras.

I'm on the later tunnel 1920.

Is it the Ibis @ Calais tunnel you've booked ? I'll get myself into the one at Beyonne now.

No contest. The usual hotel where most GSer's stop at, you've been there, twice. Were we stayed last year before going across and after getting back. :thumb

Restuarant/bar, covered parking, good priced accomodation, minutes from the ferry. :thumb

I'm out , sorry lads .......... :(

I thought it would be more fun to give my money to the Solicitor instead .....

Still , my divorce comes through at Easter so i might go for a drive in my van , park up and knock one out to celebrate ..... :bounce1

Well it is free isn't it ...............

Sorry to hear that. But, you can't give ex.SWMBO what you've just spent on knobbly tyres, mint tea, kebabs and a Marrakech carpet so leave today and we'll see you there!

Hi guys, very interested in joining you on this jolly.

Whats the latest i can get my name down to join you?

First problem for me to overcome is bike insurance. Ebike who I'm with, don't cover me for Moroc, and i don't want to hold you guys up at the border sorting out insurance, and don't want to risk the trip without any.

I've read Tims tips and hints pages and know its available once you get across there.

:)

Hi Claw there is no last date ?

Turn up on the day at the time and your in !!

For insurance, try Carole Nash - I've just moved to them, still waiting for my greencard though but I think they do just a short term green card cover policy.

Be aware that GREEN Card insurance is only 3rd party cover only. So even with a fully comp policy it is NOT insuring damage to your bike. Not sure if covers theft :nenau

My insurance is not due for renewal at the moment, and as i had a total right off bike claim with ebike just a few months ago due to a fire, they will be honouring my no claims discount come renewal, and that'll save explaining to a new insurance company for a new quote etc.
Pain in the arse that they don't and won't include Morocco though :(

I know about having third party only, but don't want to tempt fate by taking the risk, even though a few people do.

Thanks for the pointers anyway guys :)

Just renewed with CN , Groupama policy gives you fully comprehensive for all applicable countries including Morocco.i.e like for like as per UK cover so
Got a Green Card covering my trip duration of 3 months within a week. Covers me fully comprehensive and not 3rd party only like some do.

Did we bother with insurance last year?

Hi Claw

As Asifmo said there is no latest date just turn up wherever and whenever you like drop in or out as you feel. No plans means no dissapointments and no worries about keeping to a schedule etc. It's the only way to go, thanks Steptoe:thumb

I will need to get insurance as I am also with e-bike and will get it in Marocco. If the others want to carry on then we'll meet up somewhere later in the day at the stop. Last year didn't find the insurance shop :augie, this year I will make the effort. As Fanum says you do not want to spend time with the Moroccan authorities just for the sake insurance cover. (even if it is 3rd party and unlikely to be used)

Peter

So it looks like.....
Jeremy
Metisse
Shapeshifter
Asifmo
Claw - maybe?

Are we expecting a last minute burst of entrants?
