Does anyone have any inside info on wether we are getting a new model for 2012? Thinking of changing from my 2008 GS to a new GSA, but do not want to take advantage of one of the good deals floating around, just to find out that there is a completely new model (liquid cooled?) just round the corner!

Quite fancy the new GSA Triple black, but pity they don't have the £800 free kit offer on it!

:rob

I'm reliably informed that BMW Motorrad have told their dealerships that there won't be a wasserboxer in 2012....

There was a rumour recently that the water cooled 1200GS won't arrive in showrooms till 2014 :nenau

I'd go for it if funds allow, you should be future proof for 2 years at least!

i picked up a 2012 model year 1200gs yesterday, only change is colours for next year - Silver/grey / white and Lupin Blue for next year. Not sure what colours the GSA is in for next year.

Agree, have it! :thumb2

The GSA my 2012 is available in white (with sand stickers and black/sand seat) red and triple black.

I've gotten my £800 on my new Triple Black mate (picking it up this saturday)....I'd have a word, if I were you!

*edited to add....actually, mines not an Adv, so I could be wrong....have a word anyway though ;)

Yep, they offer it with the GS triple black, but specifically not the GSA triple black, which effectively means that you are paying £930 more for the GSA triple black than the standard GSA!

Doesn't stack up, so I have said the deal's off unless they stand by the original offer of the kit that the salesman mistakenly made!!

Quite right, is it John Clark in Dundee ? I'm originally from Pitlochry, where about in Perthshire are you ? :flag

Bloody right mate! I know its the newest addition and all that, but its ridiculous that they can offer the discount/offer on every single other 1200GS except that one!

If he made the offer, mistakenly or not, the dealer should stand by it.

It's old stock vs. new stock so it's pretty normal that older bikes have a bigger discount :rob

I got a my2012 bike with the additional 800 promotion - so reckon you should squeeze the GSA 3black on the same deal, especially given the salesman offered..... :-)

The stealers needed to hit their targets for pre-end of Sept registrations where i got mine - which might have influenced the situation.

I saw one of the new blue ones in the dealers, quite nice, for blue :D

I was shown a dealer update letter from BMW in Allen Jeffries a good month ago which stated that there wouldn't be a water-cooled R1200GS next year, although it could be misinformation to protect sales of the current twin cam model :nenau

I was led to believe that the water cooled will not see the showrooms until 2014,and besides the dohc could well hold it's money as it's the last of the air cooled bikes, and it's a great bike.

Be careful of black,it looks fabulous in the showroom but once it's only slightly dirty it starts to look not just dirty but shabby.

I was very tempted toward the triple black when I swapped earlier this month, then remembered that some years ago I'd vowed never to buy another black car,but last year I was drawn by the shiny new black car in the showroom.
It looked gorgeous, needless to say it's never looked the same since.

In the end I choose white for my new 1200,it's been out in some rubbish weather is generally fairly mucky but still looks good.

just my 2p.

Steve
