Hi,
noticed something didn't feel quite right after a couple of rides to work and back this week. Bike still rides as good as ever but when I pulled into the garage tonight and stood up off the seat the rear suspension travelled up and hit the top of it's travel with a loud clunk. Tried a couple of times with the same result.
The ESA works fine in the different settings and I normally have it set to rider only. Didn't get a chance to look at it tonight as I'm quick turn-around so back in work early in the morning. I'll have a look after work tomorrow but has anybody had this with their bike in the past? Any ideas what might be causing it? It's literally just started this week after faultless service. The bike has approx 32,000 dealer-serviced miles on it.

Cheers!!

My guess is the shock is leaking oil and knackered. It has the same symptoms that mine had when it failed at 26k miles.

I took mine to Firefox at Keighley and they repaired it for £250 with 12 months warranty. The guy who repaired the shock told me 26k miles is quite good for one of these and they had repaired lots with far less miles and one as low as 14k.

It would seem that these very expensive shocks (from BMW) are not that good quality.

I think I was lucky to get 46K from mine. The front went at 32K

If you do take it off and send it to firefox or whoever, remember to set the ESA to One Rider and normal rebound.

Thanks for all the advice. Looks like I'll be making a trip to Keighley in the new year. Didn't realise these bikes were so expensive to run. It's had a new swingarm (under warranty), new front brake caliper and now this. And I thought Ducati were a money pit. Nothing compared to these biikes.
