2014 RT's GROUNDED! DO NOT RIDE!

Rong which givi Topbox do you have? Purchased à RT LE with everything but Topbox and audio dont fancy spending£869 on a BMW

L47 with remote locking (which I modified to work of RT Central locking) loads cheaper than BMW and looks just as good IMO.

That looks a very nice bike and top box looks good to me

I'm contemplating getting the Givi top panel colour coded to make it look even better.

Looks excellent. Can you describe how you modified it to work with the central locking and which mounting bracket did you use (the Givi site only shows options for 2013 RTs)?

Thanks
Graham

Very basically you remove the remote control circuit board and replace the power for the solenoid with power from the RT's central locking system (I tapped the power from one of the pannier power feeds).
Regarding the mounting plate, I used mine that I bought for my '11 plate RT, it fits!

Don't suppose you took any pics of the install ?

No but I will take some photos of it tomorrow and post them, maybe under a separate thread as it is a bit off topic!

Very nice top box. I agree: does look better than the BMW one which is a bit square and dull grey. I am thinking to have mine painted to match.

....and it looks like you live opposite the pub which is even nicer :bounce1

Been to pick up the RT today, after circa 3 months "do not ride" followed by the 100 mile journey home, I had forgotten just how bloody good it is!

Looks like most of the 2014 RT's are eventually fixed and back on the road at last! Now back from my summer holiday, mine's is being fixed today :D
So, a question to those who had ridden their bike with the original (faulty) suspension unit fitted and are now riding their bike with the new suspension unit fitted, are you noticing any difference?

Same as it ever was........normal service has been resumed.

I've done 800+ miles on mine since getting it back, and the ride feels exactly the same as i recall.

Which is excellent...:thumby:

Still waiting for mine, now having to go on my hols on my old trusty stead, and was so looking forward to the new bike :(
