Well, this wasn’t planned. I’ve had my late (December) 2015 black and grey R1200RS SE from new. It’s been my main bike for approaching 11 years and has covered just over 56,000 miles. That’s supposedly high I know but it’s less than 6,000 miles a year.
A change in circumstances means I am selling. I’ve been enjoying motorcycling for over 56 years, and I’ve owned at least 40 motorcycles but none better than this. It’s become a special bike and parting with it isn’t easy.
It comes fully equipped and ready to go. Full Service History, it’s wanted for nothing. Shaft replaced 41,523 miles. Rear shock serviced at 47,194 miles, 2 x oil changes done on the front forks including seals at 43,217 miles (they weren’t leaking). The rear drive oil is changed annually.
Rear shock and rear drive unit replaced under warranty in first two years.
Being the SE, it has TPMS, Gear Shift Assist, ESA, extra mode thing (can’t remember exactly) and engine spoilers. TPMS sensors have been replaced with the OEM new style ones. Tyres are Metzeler Roadtec 02’s with plenty of life and no puncture repairs. MOT was last done in the Spring. The battery was replaced with a larger high capacity one and it’s going strong. Foam block supplied.
Extra’s
Clearwater Darla SMART LED running lights on MachineArtMoto brackets. Quality US items that go to full on main beam or the horn sounding. 2nd horn fitted with a lower tone, together they are seriously loud. Adjustable via a series of pushing buttons and flicking switches as per the manual.
MachineArtMoto Mudsling, Avant engine guard and cam covers protectors.
Factory alarm and Datatag.
2 keys and a spare ‘dumb’ key for panniers.
MRA screen with adjustable lip.
BMW panniers and top box just resprayed in satin black. They look really nice. Panniers not been fitted since. Maine Event inner bags in panniers.
Wide OEM ‘Australian’ rear mudguard.
Touratech security oil filler with keys.
Evotech radiator guard.
Fenda Extenda.
Rowe PDM 60 fitted as power supply for accessories.
Carpuride 5” unit (works with wonder wheel) mounted on repositioned GPS mount (a Dutch one, can’t remember the name).
The bike has always been garaged. There is no corrosion on the engine and otherwise just on some galvanised brake fittings. Considering its age and the fact that it’s not a garage queen it’s in amazing condition. I see very few in better nick. I was planning on seeing 100,000 miles on it.
I’m in the NW of England, Heysham near Morecambe.
Because it’s pissing down with rain photos will follow.
I’m looking for £4,250
I think it’s a lot of bike for that.
